Chesterfield Bowling Club has had to re-arrange its long-established Mayor’s Charity Cup competition to avoid a clash with England’s World Cup semi-final against Croatia on Wednesday.

The decision has been taken in agreement with Chesterfield mayor, Councillor Stuart Brittain.

A new date for the annual fundraiser - which takes place on the historic bowling green at Beetwell Street in aid of the Mayor’s Appeal - will be held on Wednesday, August 22.

England’s crunch last four game kicks off at 7pm and is live on ITV.
