Regatta has just taken over a 3000ft store at the Rowley based shopping village.

Katayune Jacquin, Centre Manager of Peak Shopping Village, has welcomed their arrival as a coup for the centre, she said: “We’re delighted to have Regatta join us here.

“We’re obviously perfectly located for walking and hiking in the Peak District, and this has been recognised by retailers.

“Regatta is a respected name with 30 stand-alone stores across the UK so it’s a real endorsement of the work we’re doing here that they have chosen to join us.”

Regatta’s new store features a big range of mens, womens and childrens clothing plus camping accessories, covering every outdoor activity from swimming gear for a dip in Hathersage’s famous outdoor pool through to walking equipment fit for hiking up Mam Tor.

With existing stores like Mountain Warehouse and Field and Trek, Peak Shopping Village is fast becoming the region’s go-to destination for outdoor gear after what has been acknowledged as a difficult period.

“Following the global financial crisis have been challenging for many in the retail sector, but we are coming back very strongly now,” added Katayune. “We only have a couple of units remaining and together with our Farmers’ Markets and other events, we are starting to see a rise in footfall. We are really excited for the prospects for 2016.”
