FURTHER funding has been approved for a project to improve relations between young and older people in Derbyshire communities.
Our ‘Helping All Ages Age Well Intergenerational Project’ has had funding approved to help development over the coming year.
The project aims to bridge the generation gap and break down barriers to reduce the fear of crime, anti-social behaviour, criminal damage and calls for service.
Over the last year we’ve set up 15 new projects across Derbyshire with activities including gardening, sports, book groups, befriending and mentoring, reminiscence sessions and work to challenge stereotypes.
More than 1,500 residents took part and 13 of the projects have continued after the initial activity ended.
