Hearing into jailed estate agent postponed

Helen Gregory, 55, was sentenced to ten months in prison when she appeared at Derby Crown Court in April.

At the time, a proceeds of crime hearing was set for September 10 to decide how much of Gregory’s assets – if any – had been gained through criminal activity, and seize them.

But today (Weds), we have learned that the hearing has been postponed until January 2016 so reports can be prepared.

Gregory, of Valley Road, Spital, Chesterfield, pleaded guilty to three charges of engaging in unfair commercial practices in August last year.

At the time, Gregory’s sentencing was delayed by six months, following reassurances that she would be able to repay the money owed to her victims.

But Derby Crown Court heard in April that Gregory had not repaid her victims.

Gregory, who owned three estate agencies which operated in Derbyshire, was jailed for 10 months, and told she will serve half-of-that in custody.

She was also banned as working as a company director for six years.
