YOU MAY have heard it on the grapevine — a Buxton-based charity is under new management.
Christine Russell and Ellis Hayward have taken over the running of the Grapevine drop-in centre, which supports local people who have had, or are still experiencing, mental health difficulties.
Located on the Market Place, the centre is open weekdays between 12.30pm and 3.30pm (excluding Thursdays), offering access to a range of services, activities and support. Visitors can also participate in informal groups which offer a safe, social and fun opportunity to engage with others.
Ellis said: “We are determined to provide a supportive and enjoyable environment for people of all ages.
“Our principle aim is to offer opportunities for people to increase their self-esteem and self-confidence to promote emotional well-being.”
Annual membership is £1 and includes free advice, guidance and support, a quarterly newsletter, discounted drinks and snacks, plus participation in a loyalty card scheme and group activities.
The centre is looking for new volunteers and trustees. Contact Christine on 07926 306130 or Ellis on 07845 945474 for more information.
