Healthy donation from Eyam Marathon

Representatives from Eyam Marathon presented a cheque for £1,000 to Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport this week.

Bakewell & Eyam Community Transport Chair, Lynn Jackson was delighted that the local transport scheme was selected as beneficiaries and said that the donation was a valuable contribution to the organisation as it will enable the costs to remain affordable for the whole community.

As a one of the founder members, Lynn was keen to remind people at the marathon that volunteers continue to be central to the organisation. Drivers assist through the day, evenings and weekends. Anyone who holds a current driving licence can apply to become a volunteer bus driver. Alternatively, car owners may wish to work for the car scheme.
