A woman who says she has a new lease of life since overcoming breast cancer is to take part in a charity walk.

Pam, 61, will be walking the Chatsworth Pink Ribbonwalk on June 21, to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

She said: “Being diagnosed with breast cancer last year was utterly devastating but I decided I had to take a deep breath and get on with the task of fighting this disease. The best way I could do this was by taking one day at a time.

“I have now come through an operation and chemotherapy and am ready to move forward. It has changed my outlook on life totally and I no longer take things for granted. My husband and myself are now determined to take more breaks and do the things we have often thought about doing. “

Pam signed up for the walk to raise money for the charity which supported her through her own diagnosis of breast cancer in 2013.

The Derbyshire Times are media partners for the Chatsworth Pink Ribbonwalk. Registration for the event costs £30, with a fundraising target of £100 per person. Each participant will get a T-shirt, training guide and meal, medal and massage at the end of the walk.
