Heanor born-and-bred Philip Bamford, 60, was a student at the school himself before taking the job as part of the site staff in 1983.

The staunch Nottingham Forest fan says the school has changed a lot since he joined. He was a painter and decorator before taking up the post. He said: “I still look forward to coming to work every day and trying to help both staff and students alike.”
