HATHERSAGE hosted the glamorous wedding of Olympic champion Jessica Ennis on Saturday, May 18, as she married her long-term partner Andy Hill at a church in the picturesque Derbyshire Peak District village.
Jessica Ennis, from nearby Sheffield, tied the knot with long-term partner Andy Hill at the Church of St Michael and All Angels, in Hathersage.
The 27-year-old, who won heptathlon gold at London 2012 Olympics, opted to miss the 2013 indoor season to concentrate on this summer’s World Championships.
Members of the public broke into applause outside the Church of St Michael and All Angels as Ennis arrived.
Ennis wore a V-necked, sleeveless ivory silk gown with a ruffled tulle skirt and a full-length veil and carried a small posy of cream and pale pink roses.
Mr Hill, a construction site manager, wore a dark grey morning suit with a pink tie and handkerchief.
Ennis is due to begin competing again on June 8 at Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Stadium.
