Hathersage carnival season ends on a high

Police have thanked the organisers of carnivals across the Hathersage area for helping to cut down on anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.

As the carnival season came to an end in Evam on Saturday, Augusts 31, police would like to praise the organisers for the smooth running of the events which saw the parades go ahead without any calls for service.

During the events in Bradwell, Evam, Grindleford, Stoney Middleton and Great Hucklow no crimes were reported making it a great day out for families within the Hathersage communities.

PCSO Anthony Boswell, from Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “All the events had a great community atmosphere without any anti-social behaviour taking place.

“The team would like to congratulate all organisers of the carnivals for their cooperation to help run a safe and enjoyable event for all and we hope to continue this into the future.”
