SPORTY fundraiser Charlie Last has qualified for the Olympic Games in London after beating off hundreds of competitors from around the country.
The prolific Chain Gang charity cyclist, from Dronfield, wowed judges after he has raised thousands of pounds for worthy causes to clinch a top job as a volunteer driver at this summer’s top world event in July and August.
Big-hearted Charlie said: “I can’t wait to be involved in this once in a lifetime experience where I will be ferrying Olympians back and forth.
“With tickets so hard to come by it will be a great way to soak up all the atmosphere.”
Charlie will join other Games Maker volunteers who will be working in areas including medical, sales and ceremonies.
His customer service skills as owner of Dronfield’s Carpeteer will also come into play as he helps Olympic sports stars and clientele to get around the Games’ village and stadiums.
