Anyone living in the Derbyshire Dales can buy goods such as shed and garage alarms, security lights, outdoor light bulbs and timer switches, usually at half the normal cost.

Several homes in Grindleford are now protected with a selection of these items, with many residents buying shed and garage alarms in particular.

PCSO Anthony Boswell, from the team, said: “We’ve had reports of break-ins in garages and sheds in recent weeks and we wanted to make people aware of extra security measures they can take.

The cost is very low and the effort is minimal in having one of these alarms installed. It just takes a few minutes, but can help protect your property and your belongings from being stolen.”
