Friends unite for charity to remember Gill

Members across the county decided to fundraise for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Charity to acknowledge and celebrate Gill’s involvement in the WI.

Individuals took on a number of challenges including current Federation chairman Chrissie Booth who put on her running shoes for a 10k race.

Joan Rowland, president of Derbyshire Federation of WI, said: “Gill is very much missed with her cheery smile and encouraging words; she was particularly noted for her colourful clothes and in particular her stylish jackets.

“In all WI members and Gill’s friends have raised over £5,000 and Gill’s husband Alan says donations are still arriving. Gill will not be forgotten.”
