Roger, of Hollingwood, said: “It’s great to be able to breathe new life into this building. I’ve been in this trade all my life and I’m excited about the future.

“I’m dedicated to providing top-quality customer service. You certainly can’t get that online.”

Yeomans was founded in 1904 when Walter Yeomans opened the first store in Chesterfield. It closed at the end of January.

Roger joined Yeomans after leaving school and worked in a number of roles including shop manager, warehouse manager and area manager.

Peakland Outdoors was officially opened on Saturday, March 11.
