Five people have been arrested following a number of drugs warrants in Chesterfield and Clay Cross last week
Officers from the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a search warrant at a house on Bacons Lane in Chesterfield on Thursday, December 13.
A quantity of heroin and cannabis were seized from the address.
A 41 year old woman and a 30 year old man from Chesterfield, along with a 26 year old from Clowne, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
The woman was later charged with the offence and appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Friday, December 14.
Warrants were also carried out by the Safer Neighbourhood policing team at two properties on Queen Street in Clay Cross on Friday, December 14.
A quantity of suspected Cannabis was seized from one address, and a number of suspected Cannabis plants seized from the other property.
A 38 year old man from Clay Cross was arrested on suspicion of intent to supply Class B drugs and 48 year old, also from Clay Cross, was arrested on suspicion of production of a Class B drug.
Both men have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Chief Inspector Rick Gooch, who is the lead on community policing in the area, said: “Officers from our Safer Neighbourhood policing teams carried out these warrants based on information from the local community and we hope that this shows that we take reports of illegal drug activity very seriously.
“Drugs misuse can have a negative impact on local neighbourhoods and I’d urge anyone with information about the supply of drugs to let the police know.”
