Firefighters tackle house blaze in Chesterfield

Crews from Bolsover and Clay Cross were called to the incident on Newbold Road at about 7.10pm.

A Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The fire was in the ground floor of a two-storey property.

"Crews put out the fire and fitted smoke alarms at the property.

"They left the scene at about 8pm."

There are no reports of any injuries and it is not yet clear what caused the fire.
