Firefighters rescue trapped cow


MATLOCK and Chesterfield firefighters rescued a cow which became stuck in mud in the Peak District.

The cow was found trapped near the A625 road, at Longshaw, about 1pm, on Wednesday, December 21.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The owner of the cow, police and a vet were at the scene during the rescue.”

Fire crews used straps and shovels to free the cow and they completed the rescue within two hours.
