A reduced emergency response service will be available at all times but fire chiefs are calling on members of the public to take extra care.

Area manager Kam Basi said: “Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service will still be responding to 999 calls albeit at a reduced level. Once again we are asking members of the public to take extra steps to reduce the risk of a fire breaking out in their home and to take extra care when driving on the roads during this time.

The strikes will be the fifth and sixth since the end of September in the row over pensions. Visit www.derbys-fire.gov.uk to find out more about fire safety.
