Festive cancer appeal raises £23,000

The Christmas Star Appeal raised more than £23,000 to help fund cancer research and invest in the most up-to-date treatments giving families the chance of a brighter future.

Supporters were sent a special silver star Christmas tree decoration.

Helen Gentle, fundraiser at Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the fantastic response to our Christmas Star Appeal and are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported it.

“The funds raised will make a big difference to cancer patients in this area and will give more families the chance of spending many more magical Christmases together.

“From all of us at the charity we would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.”
