Chesterfield-based Robinson PLC is encouraging people to enter a special competition to provide a new name for the development on Chatsworth Road.

Outline planning permission was granted in January for the eight-acre site which will include retail stores, new homes and apartments.

To enter, people should ‘like’ the Walton Works Facebook page and ‘like’ and share the post which gives details of the competition. People should then comment below the post with their name suggestion for the development OR send the Walton Works Facebook page a private message.

The closing date for the competition is April 7. Five of the best suggestions will be placed into an online poll. The winner will be announced two weeks later.

The major town development will see the restoration and conversion of the Grade II listed Walton Works building and Mill Terrace.

The proposal will also include 300 new dwellings on Boythorpe Works, two residential blocks containing 76 dwellings, 22 dwellings close to Mill, new retail developments and a public house.
