WILDLIFE enthusiasts are invited to a full family fun day at the Avenue’s Education Centre.
Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Wildlife Trust are hosting the event from noon on June 23 to give visitors the chance to find out what it is like to spend 24 hours on a nature reserve.
Visitors can listen to a talk in the centre on subjects such as bee keeping, pond life, wildlife of the Peak District, wildlife crime prevention photography and bird ringing.
Guided walks around the reserve will be led by experts with subjects including wild flowers, mammals, butterflies, dragonflies and moths.
Evening events will include moth trapping, a guided bat walk and star gazing with Chesterfield astronomical society.
As dawn breaks there will be a guided walk to listen to the dawn chorus.
Throughout the event people will be encouraged to take photos and enter them into a competition.
