Crews from Bakewell and Buxton attended the scene on the A6 near Taddington at the junction of the B6049 Millers Dale turn at 4.20pm on Friday.
The fire had been extinguished by the bus driver.
The passengers were transferred to another bus and the crew left at 5.18pm.
