Emergency services rush to incident at Chesterfield roundabout

The three main emergency services descended on Whittington Moor roundabout in Chesterfield after a motorbike went up in flames.

Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the busy junction shortly before 4.15pm yesterday after receiving reports of an incident.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: "Upon arrival, we found a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and there was fire involving the motorbike.

"Firefighters from Chesterfield and Dronfield used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire and assisted the ambulance service with a casualty.

"Police also attended."

Emergency services were at the scene for about half an hour.
