Emergency services battle home fire

POLICE and the fire service have launched an investigation after they were called out to a blazing home.

The fire was discovered in the ground floor living room of a domestic property on Butterley Hill, at Ripley, just after midnight, about 12.47am, on Sunday, October 21.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said; “Ripley and Alfreton firefighters used breathing apparatus and a main line and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries involved.”

The fire service informed the police and a fire investigation has been launched to establish the exact cause.
