Emergency crews rescue injured man after 'industrial accident' in Ripley

An air ambulance crew, firefighters and paramedics freed a patient who had been injured and trapped during an 'industrial accident' in Ripley.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken by land ambulance to Royal Derby Hospital with leg injuries.

Paramedics from the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance attended the incident, which happened in Ripley, at 4.15pm on Thursday, January 14.

An air ambulance spokeswoman said the patient had become trapped following an “industrial accident” and suffered injuries to his legs.

The air ambulance crew worked with the fire service and the East Midlands Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team to free the patient.

He was given advanced pain relief and taken to Royal Derby Hospital via land ambulance with the air ambulance crew assisting in the land ambulance.
