Barrow Hill Primary School is embarking on an exciting new journey.

The school has turned its fortunes around after being branded ‘failing’ 18 months ago.

Youngsters have widely achieved over the last few months.

They performed a fabulous Grease dance at new business City Response’s opening ceremony in Barrow Hill and reached the Derbyshire Small Schools Athletics Final in Matlock.

What’s more, the school, on Station Road, Barrow Hill, is leading the way with the use of technology.

Much to the excitement of pupils, it is introducing Apple iPads into the curriculum from September 2013.

In its latest Ofsted report, inspectors said: “We were pleased that you were polite and courteous towards us. Adults look after you and make sure you feel safe. You have a good understanding of how to stay fit and healthy. We found your behaviour was good. You all get on well together.”
