Teacher-soaking is boost to fundraising

The skies were hardly cloudless but that didn’t stop a record turnout for Parkside Community School’s fifth annual summer evening festival.

Through a mix of indoor and outdoor event, the festival raised around £1,000 towards the school’s Belgium trip and the school parliament projects.

Teachers David Miller, senior deputy headteacher, and Daniel Nichols, maths teacher, got a soaking in the stocks but made a lot of money.

Mr Miller said “ This is one of a number of events that bring our school year to a positive and upbeat end where we get to share with our community all that’s good about the school, its staff and students.
