Last Friday saw the first Year 7 induction camp take place at Parkside school.

Students worked in small groups to prepare their campsite and pitch the tents before taking part in a variety of activities including tag rugby, ultimate Frisbee, orienteering, slack lining, using the newly built bouldering wall and baking.

Activities were suspended for a barbecue on Friday night.

Saturday saw students rising early for a cooked breakfast and continue with a morning of activities. Over 75 per cent of Year 7 students took part. Headteacher, Andy Knowles said “Surviving together overnight is good practice for the years ahead.”
