POST 16 students from Dronfield Henry Fanshawe school went on a trip to London. Though the trip was intended to be for Law Students, others were also offered the opportunity to go – and what an opportunity it was!
First students went straight to the Old Bailey and spent the day listening to first a GBH case and then a rape case.
Afterwards they went to Pizza Hut for dinner and returned to the hotel for the night.
The next day they visited MP Natasha Engel in Parliament after having had a tour around the building and then went to the Imperial Court to witness various trials. One involved the alleged rape of two girls under the age of 12 in the 1970s – interesting though emotional
Overall students had a valuable, interesting and fun trip to the capital city, and experienced an opportunity which doesn’t come around everyday. Thanks to Mrs Kangley, Mr Lyons and Irene May.
