On Saturday July 16, Springwell Community College held its first family fun day.
Despite the rain, over a thousand people joined us in what was a community celebration of our new state-of-the-art facilities and fun was had by all.
From pizza throwing to bungee jumps, fancy dress to charity stalls, zumba to bingo and beauty treatments to paralympic activities, this event had it all.
“All we wanted our community to do was to come and have some fun with us and see what a wonderful resource is on their doorstep.
“Springwell’s community was not beaten back by the rain, they had hours of fun and in our ‘Big Brother’ room told us what we could do to play an even bigger role in the community,” said Debbie Rayner, assistant headteacher.
