Martin Wilde, 53, passed away at Dronfield railway station last night.

A father to four children and three step-children, Mr Wilde, of Smithy Place, Grassmoor, had been in a relationship with Denise Lewis for four months.

She said: "Martin was loved by so many people.

"He truly was one-in-a-million and will never be forgotten.

"My four months with Martin were the happiest days of my life.

"I had some wonderful times with him.

"I'll always miss Martin - he was the love of my life."

Ms Lewis said Mr Wilde - who was also known as Mosher - suffered from mental health problems.

He appeared in the Derbyshire Times earlier this year, calling for an apology after his mother fell and died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We attended Dronfield railway station just before 7pm on Tuesday night following reports that a man had been struck by a train.

"Sadly, a man died at the scene.
