Derbyshire police teams have been busy keeping our roads safe overnight.

Among the many incidents, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stopped the driver of a silver Volkswagen in Chesterfield. The driver initially tried to flee but then ‘gave up’. The motorist failed a drugs test for cocaine and the car was found to have no MOT and two illegal tyres.

Elsewhere, in Bakewell, Derbyshire Constabulary Armed Response Unit stopped a white Volkswagen van in Bakewell. The motorist failed a road side breath and provided a sample in custody which was twice the legal limit.
