A Bolsover drag queen is entertaining the world at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Tina Turnoff, the alter ego of Nicky Cann, 23, will be performing with the Camp Cooks, dishing out fast food to the masses with a side order of glamour.

Nicky, a former Moorside pupil, said: “Not bad how a drag queen from a small town can entertain the world at one of the most prestigious events.

“Hopefully, we will be appearing on the TV at some point this year and are in talks with producers about getting our own show . So watch this space Derbyshire as I fully intend to put us on the map.”

The cooks, Wynnie La Freak, Lucy Lush and Cleo Taurus are this year joined by Sarah Wagstaff, also from Bolsover.
