A FAMILY which runs an ice cream business is all smiles after scooping two prestigious awards.
Smiths Creamland Ices, based on High Street, Clay Cross, won the Silver Challenge Cup for best vanilla flavour at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.
It was awarded by the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA) and the firm has previously won the Cup three times.
The business was also awarded a prize called the Alice Robinson Memorial Perpetual Trophy for best dairy products at the Bakewell Show this summer.
Louise Manfredi, joint proprietor with husband Dominic, said: “We are exceptionally proud, it’s a lovely lovely trophy.
“We are very happy that we won them because it shows we are consistent with the products.”
The company has been running for 60 years and in recognition of its membership the ICA has awarded them a certificate.
It is ran with the help of Louise’s and Dominic’s three daughters, Tina, Janet and Lorraine.
