Dog owner is jailed

A WOMAN from Heanor has been sentenced to three weeks in prison for breaching a court order.

Amanda Kerry, 42, of Nelson Street was issued with a court order which stated she was not to be in custody of dogs for five years. This was a result of a number of incidents that the police were called to involving the dog. The dog was classified as dangerous after biting a horse.

Kerry was issued with two warnings by police after reports were received of her continuing to keep dogs at her property. She was later found to have breached the court order and was sentenced at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court to three weeks in prison.
