Dizzying list of acts to play this year’s Y Not

A dizzying line–up has been released by Y Not organisers who claim this year’s festival features some of the biggest acts to date.

Dizzee Rascal and the White Lies have been confirmed as headliners for this year’s festival at Pikehall as the first round of the line–up announcement was made this week.

Festival organiser, Simon Mawby said: “We are so excited with our first announcement and are welcoming some of the biggest names we’ve ever had to our stages.

the beginning, with another headliner and hundreds more acts to come.

This year, the festival took a novel approach to its line–up announcement – making it via a short film, which can be viewed by clicking on the above link.

Other acts confirmed to play are The Fratellis, Newton Faulkner, Reel Big Fish and Andrew W.K.(solo).

The Blackout will also be playing as well as Cerebral Ballzy, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Itch, Eliza and The Bear and Lonely The Brave.

Darlia will perform as well as Night Engine, Best Friends, Flyte, Brawlers, Nothing But Thieves, Nordic Giants, Black Moth, The First, Youth Man and Hungerhoff and The Wild Roots.

This year, Y Not will take place between August 1 and 3, featuring a wide range of musical genres including rock, indie, hip hop, folk, dance, acoustic and reggae.

The festival prides itself on supporting upcoming talent on its purpose–built Allotment Stage.

Tickets for the festival cost £84 for three days including camping and are available by visiting the Y Not website www.ynotfestivals.com.

Festival organisers will be revealing more acts in the coming months.

Y Not Festival has grown in popularity since it began in 2005, going on to win 2012 Best Small Festival, Grassroots Festival 2011 and Best Toilets 2011. Early bird tickets for this year’s event sold out in just eight minutes.

Organisers of the Peak event are now eagerly awaiting the outcome of this year’s NME Awards, in which the festival has been nominated in the Best Small Festival category.
