Disruption to bank holiday rail travel

Travellers are being warned of engineering work at Sheffield station over the May bank holiday weekend, which will see trains replaced by buses.

The work is taking place from Saturday April 30 to Monday May 2 with numerous line closures due to re-signalling of the area.

For Northern services that will be disrupted, buses will replace trains between Sheffield and Doncaster, Edale, Lincoln, Moorthorpe, York and Nottingham.

TransPennine Express service to Manchester Airport, Doncaster and Sheffield will be replaced by buses.

Passengers for Meadowhall are advised to change at Sheffield and use other operator’s replacement bus services.

For those using CrossCountry there will be buses to replace trains between Chesterfield and Wakefield Westgate, Doncaster.
