Police have issued advice after a suspected card skimming device was found on an ATM in Eckington.

The device was discovered by a man using the Lloyds TSB cash machine on Market Street at about 6.30pm on Thursday.

Skimming devices can be used to fraudulently obtain the card details of anyone using the ATM cash point.

PCSO Dale Merchant said: “We’d encourage people to continue to use cash machines as normal but to be alert and cautious if they notice anything suspicious about a machine. When using an ATM, have a look for anything that seems out of place such as wires, tape or missing panels.”
