Earlier in the evening, an Audi TT was stopped near Junction 34 of the M1 as it was found to have cloned registration plates with assistance from South Yorkshire Police.

A third car was also stopped on the M1 as its MOT had expired in July and it was uninsured.

The police spokesman said: “At least the walk to the services to arrange a lift home was short.”
