A person has been injured after a plane crashed into a field in Derbyshire, according to police.
All three emergency services are dealing with the incident at Summerley Road, near Summerley Airfield, in Apperknowle.
Speaking at the scene, DCI Darren De'ath, on call leading investigator, said a 'light aircraft' came down in a field.
He added: "There was a single occupant within the light aircraft.
"It would appear the plane was due to land.
"We don't yet know the cause of the crash.
"We're now about to start a joint investigation with the Civil Aviation Authority, who are en route to the scene."
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said emergency services were called to the incident at around 1pm.
The spokesman added: "We believe there is one person injured at this time and surrounding roads have been closed.
"Witnesses or anyone with information should call us on 101."
Eyewitnesses have reported a heavy emergency services presence in the village, which is in between Chesterfield and Sheffield.
Commenting on Facebook, Craig Mason said: "I hope the pilot is OK."
Holly Swain added: "I hope whoever is hurt makes a speedy recovery."
