Derbyshire Open Arts – weekend shows off artistic talent

Artists and makers will be showcasing their work in studios, galleries and community venues over the bank holiday weekend.

Established in 2006, Derbyshire Open Arts is now a regular weekend out for those with an interest in the visual arts.

Creative people open up their own homes and studios to give demonstrations and workshops, while others choose to exhibit in groups at venues within their local community.

All venues offers free entry, and the opportunity for visitors to see and buy a range of work made by local artists.

Among the exhibitors this weekend will be five members of Hathersage Contemporary Art Group, Anthony Marshall, Pauline Rignall, Mark Tolson, Debbie Michaels and Jonathan Michaels.

Their paintings will be on show at the Moorland House Residential Home, Station Road, Hathersage, from May 24 to 26, 11am until 5pm.
