The new leader of Derbyshire County Council has vowed she wont let voters down after the Labour party took control in the elections.
Cllr Anne Western speaking to Derbyshire Times’ reporter Jon Cooper at the County Hall in Matlock today said: “I’m really pleased and it’s a great result right across Derbyshire.
“People have put their trust in Labour and we wont let them down.”
As it currently stands Labour has 41 seats on Derbyshire County Council, Conservatives 18 and Liberal Democrats 3. There is just one area left to be revealed as at 1.37pm today.
