MORE than 400 talented young musicians will showcase their skills in a concert celebrating music-making across the county.
The event is organised by the Derbyshire City and County Music Partnership which now leads Derbyshire’s Music Education Hub.
The partnership – made up of Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council – provides music-making opportunities to thousands of local pupils.
The Celebration Concert will host a range of performances including a string orchestra, wind band and singing.
Emily Fox, 16, of Dronfield, attends St Mary’s Roman Catholic High School and is one of hundreds performing at the concert. She said: “The Hub has really supported my love for music and helped me decide to apply to study music at university next year.
“I play the flute, bassoon and piano and I’m so excited to just get out there and perform with everyone and show everyone what we can do.”
The Celebration Concert takes place at Derby Assembly Rooms between 3pm and 5.30pm on April 28. For more details contact Jayne Briggs on 01629 532871 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
