Jade Holland and her husband sadly lost their son Keaton to suicide, aged 21, four years ago.

After a successful fundraiser last year in which they raised an incredible £7,500, they have decided to organise another event which will see five men do ‘the Full Monty’ at the Holmewood Miners Welfare in aid of Papyrus, the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide.

And when Jade asked Steven Huison, who played Lomper in the 1997 box office hit film, for any advice for the men taking part, he replied: “You’ve nothing to lose but your clothes. Go for it! And for a great cause too. Best of luck.”

The five men taking part – Keaton’s dad Dean Holland, Jarvis Wright, Lee Coupe, Jay Young and Nathan Maggs – are currently being put through their paces by the Aspire Dance school ahead of the event on Saturday, October 6.

Jade, of Holmewood, said the charity Papyrus is close to their hearts and they are keen to raise as much money and awareness as possible.

“Losing Keaton so suddenly and tragically by suicide has been a daily battle of survival for me and for my family, swamped with a complex and traumatic grief and a sadness that never goes away,” Jade said.

“Suicide grief is so debilitating – it takes on its own kind of energy and never seems to tire.

“I try to channel some of that grief energy into something a little more positive.

“Hopefully by raising awareness through fundraising helps to save young lives from suicide and prevents other families from a lifetime of sadness and inner pain that we have sadly found ourselves with.

“I’m passionate about suicide prevention and will continue to be while ever I am able to do so.”

Jade praised the men who are taking part and said: “I forsee this to be a truly funny and entertaining evening with a good cause behind it.”

She added: “Nobody should ever feel that taking their own life is the best option.

“Everyone can help and do just a little – be there, listen and spot the signs.

“It’s good to talk.”
