I was delighted to see that the shelter on the village green at High Street, Old Whittington - dedicated in honour of Swanwick family members killed in both World Wars - had been decorated, covering up some very unsightly scrawls and crude drawings done by vandals.
However, even though the ‘wet paint’ signs were still up, I was appalled to see some fool had defaced the shelter with a large felt tip ‘signature’ above the seats facing the Cock And Magpie.
I hope this person gets caught and as a punishment is made to clean off his handiwork, plus all the red paint squiggles on the stone walled pathway from next to the pub up to the church.
Such criminal behaviour is unsightly, disrespctful, and harms the image of the village.
