DERBYSHIRE: Latest snow updates

Today will be dry and cloudy with sunny spells.

Temperatures will rise up to two degrees above zero today and we the snow to start thawing.

Wind will be moderate with occasional gusts on high ground.

Take extra care today as fresh snow has covered compacted snow that turned to ice on many untreated surfaces. There is also the high risk of ice in some places where the temperature dropped early this morning.


Ploughing and salting of all primary network routes continued through the night and will continue until these are clear.

Ploughing and salting of secondary network routes will follow on once the primary routes are clear.

Snow ploughing contractors have been out today clearing tertiary routes as well as many other roads.

A57 Snake Pass in the High Peak

A6024 Holme Moss

A537 and A54 Cat and Fiddle Buxton to Macclesfield and A53 south of Buxton

Monks Road,Glossop

High Lane, Charlesworth, Glossop

Roads leading from Chapel-en-le-Frith in the High Peak to Dove Holes through Martinside village.
