Flash flooding hit Derbyshire yesterday (Friday, August 9) causing traffic chaos and leaving homes waterlogged.

Fire fighters in Staveley were called out at around 7pm after three homes flooded on Station Road in Hollingwood.

Crews pumped out the properties and Derbyshire County Council attended to place sandbags at the front and back of the houses.

Heavy rain forced Sainsbury’s in Rother Way, to close its doors.

Cars also got stuck in deep water under Horns Bridge.

Derbyshire Times Facebook friends have submitted these photos which include flood water around the Magistrates Court in Tapton Lane and cars in flood water near the train station.
