Fire stations across Derbyshire have raised more than £21,000 for one of their own who is bravely battling a brain tumour and has been told he has 'four weeks to live'.
Stefan Hawcroft, 29, of Dronfield, who has been a firefighter for ten years, needs specialist treatment not available on the NHS.
A fundraising page set up by his family has received an incredible £59,000 in donation.
And thanks to fire stations across the county, that total will increase to £80,000 after they held charity car washes last weekend to raise vital funds for Mr Hawcroft.
A tweet by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "From last weekend's car washes, you helped us raise a whopping £21,021.21! This money has today been presented to Stefan Hawcroft's family. Thank you to every single person who donated and helped make last weekend possible!"
