And thanks to fire stations across the county, that total will increase to £80,000 after they held charity car washes last weekend to raise vital funds for Mr Hawcroft.

A tweet by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "From last weekend's car washes, you helped us raise a whopping £21,021.21! This money has today been presented to Stefan Hawcroft's family. Thank you to every single person who donated and helped make last weekend possible!"
