The Derbyshire Times is set to move to a state-of-the-art new home.
Reception, advertising, newspaper sales and editorial staff are all in the process of moving to the superb new offices at Spire Walk, just off Derby Road, in Chesterfield.
Our new home will open for business at 8.30am on Monday – starting an exciting new chapter in the history of one of the country’s biggest-selling weekly newspapers.
Derbyshire Times Editor James Mitchinson expressed a desire to thank the public for their patience as the move took place.
He said: “Opportunities to improve your working environment wholesale in this way do not come along very often.
“So to find somewhere even MORE prominent, standing proud at one of the main gateways to Chesterfield, was a chance we simply could not pass up.”
He also thanked all members of staff for helping to make the move a success.
“This was probably the most challenging time a modern newspaper could face, but each and every member of staff has played their part.
“I would like to thank them for their commitment and tenacity. Without them, this couldn’t have happened.”
We moved out of our historic Station Road home in March after 100 years of publishing.
Since leaving Station Road, we have maintained a town centre presence with staff based at the local Chamber of Commerce offices in Chesterfield.
James added: “I’d like to say a sincere thank you to Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, who have provided us with a first class reception area.”
